| For this drawing, I was inspired by Charles Baudelaire's poem, "Elévation": the Earth is a rotten, despicable place, and the poet's main desire is to find a way to rise to an ideal world where all is great and pure. The angel portrays peace and innocence as he enters a better world (death, according to Baudelaire, is the only way to find happiness). |
